DOSEMAN PRO is especially constructed for accurate measurements of radon progeny concentration, expressed as PAEC or in WL ( working levels ). Dose calculations based on measurements of radon progeny concentration take into account changing equilibrium factors F between radon and it´s airborn progeny. This is of extraordinary importance in such places as underground mines, water facilities, tunnels etc. Battery operated in a durable, robust case, packed with latest semiconductor technology. Small and reasonably priced, this versatile instrument is the most precious companion when precise measurement of radiation dose from radon and progeny is important.
Theory of operation and features
Based upon the proven semiconductor technology and state-of-art alpha-spectrometry, DOSEMAN PRO consist of a Si-semiconductor detector head with millipore filter for excellent spectroscopic resolution of sampled aerosols. Filter can be changed easly by swivelling the detector head and a LLRD analysis (Long Living Radioactive Dust) may performed after exposition using state of art spectroscopy systems. The shock resistant casing houses an internal pump and NiMH rechargeable batteries for more than 50 hours of stand-alone operation. With dimensions of a small mobile phone and a weight of about 350 g, it is easy to wear during operational work. IrDA infra-red technology provides a comfortable data tranfer to a PC. Administator desk Windows software is included. This user friendly software calculates the radiation dose and is used for setting measurement parameters as well as the transfer of saved spectra and time distribution data to a PC.
